PARQUE TAYRONA - PLAYA CRISTAL - Tayrona National Park

Playa Tayrona amazing place to visit in Colombia caribe. I recommend it

On one side the waves lash the volcanic rocks that line up along the beach; turning the head to the other side the view seems to find a mirage, because it gives the impression that a piece of the Amazon had risen in the middle of the Caribbean. This, of Canaveral, is one of several beaches of Tayrona National Park, a nature reserve in Colombia that has 12,000 ha.

WHERE IS IT ?

In the department of Magdalena, 34 Km. From the beautiful city of Santa Marta, Colombia is the Tayrona National Park, a sanctuary of nature and archaeological remains that invite the encounter with oneself. Ecosystems such as mangroves, corals, seagrass beds, thorn scrub and magical dry, humid and cloud forests proliferate and are home to an amazing variety of plant and animal species that bear witness to life. White sandy beaches that retain a special environment natural character.

In this park you can practice the sighting of flora and fauna, especially birds in danger of extinction. In addition to its natural and archaeological attractions, Tayrona National Park is a good scenario for ecotourism thanks to its exotic beaches wave that differs from one to another and even their suitable for diving areas, the three most popular are: Bay Concha, a beautiful resort with cabins and restaurants; Neguanje and Canaveral with its camping area and delicious beaches amidst lush nature. The stone paths leading from the beaches to the Chairama, now known as Pueblito, are also tours by tourists as one of its main attractions

Where To Camp In Tayrona

There are a few options when it comes to accommodation in Tayrona National Park.
We brought our own tent and camped at Cabo San Juan campsite, with a view of the amazing beach. We would recommend this campsite as the best but also the busiest with most people choosing to camp here due to the spectacular beaches so close to the campsite.

Camping in Tayrona (with your own tent) is the cheapest option, costing $15,000 per person per night regardless of whether you are sharing the same tent or not. Renting a hammock costs between $15,000 COP ($8 USD ) depending on the season and location. Renting a 2 person tent costs $50,000 COP ($28 USD ) but they are not as nice and often of poor quality.
