Cachiche village is also one of the main tourist attractions in Ica, Peru. Above all, by the legends to be a people formerly inhabited by witches.

History of Cachiche
According to
tradition, the village was famous for its Cachiche witches who could cure all
kinds of diseases and injuries. Here the palm is with the seven heads, all
growing from the same trunk.
In the past,
the people of Cachiche in Ica-Peru, was synonymous of witchcraft for many
Peruvians. It looked like a town of witches, because it lodged countless women
according to Ica, had supernatural powers. The locals mentioned that served to
remove the ills of the body and prepare concoctions for various Santeria.
While it is
true that Ica and the Huacachina Oasis also spoke Dunes and striking islands
attracts much tourism, the town of Cachiche is also a symbol of this
department, its mystery, beauty and stories.
It is said
that the most famous witch Cachiche was Julia Hernandez Chest Widow of Diaz. He
has died at 106 years, after a life filled with potions and spells.
Furthermore, it says that this witch mentioned that Ica will sink when you
leave afloat the seventh head of the "palm of the seven heads"
another tourist attraction in the place.
Therefore,
people always prevents the seventh head green again as they continue with the
belief that has endured for centuries.
During my
trip I was amazed about this story of a child Cachiche and told us the whole
story, on ships arriving from Africa in the time of colonialism in Peru, they
landed there budu practicing witches and other magic. why this woman was burnt
and cursed the place,

The prophecy
made reality
Among the
myths and legends tell that Julia Hernandez predicted that Ica will sink when
born the seventh head of the palm of the 7 Heads, another very popular tourist
attraction in Cachiche.
That is why
such strange palm tree and looks like a snake, only has 6 heads despite its
name, as is always the seventh cut for fear of prophecy.
And the
prophecy is true: in 1998 the river overflowed and Ica was under water,
resulting in thousands of people homeless. Why? That year the seventh head was
not cut.
Where is located ?
It is
located 4 km. south of the city of Ica ( southern Perú ). Known for its witches from past
centuries healed all types of ailments.
At the
village entrance a monument to the Witch on a tree Huarango welcomes, it does
draw attention to the enigmatic figure which seems to "say something"
with your body position, a message full of mystery and sorcery. Nearby is
another Huarango tree with the sign "Cachiche" which according to the
locals is able to fulfill desires.
